The Project
Hume City Council engaged Cherry Lab to support their Hume Empowering Communities (HEC) youth initiatives — a series of programs designed to uplift young people through localised, community-driven solutions. Our role was to bring these initiatives to life through compelling video and photography content, helping amplify the stories, impact, and people behind the program. In addition to the HEC project, Cherry Lab was also engaged to support the Hume Youth Awards, a major Council event recognising and celebrating the achievements of young people across the region.
The Result
Cherry Lab developed a storytelling-led content strategy, conducting on-site filming and interviews with program leads, participants, and Council representatives. We produced a suite of short-form videos and still imagery for both the HEC initiatives and the Hume Youth Awards, highlighting key themes of empowerment, celebration, and inclusion. The content, optimised for social media, internal presentations, and event documentation, achieved strong engagement across Council platforms. It also became a valuable tool for stakeholder advocacy and internal reporting — reinforcing the importance and success of youth-led initiatives across the region.
